Elaine Stratford is Associate Professor and Head in the School of Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Tasmania, and works in the borderlands between cultural geography and political ecology. She has a particular interest in island studies and the conduct of research using qualitative methods and has published on island studies; sustainability and globalization; geopolitics and governance; environmental history, policy and politics; sense of place and community; and the geographies of children, youth and women.
